138 of 181. The arched Ponte Pietra is the oldest bridge in Verona. It was completed in 100 BC under Roman rule. Although it was blown up in 1945 by retreating German troops, it was rebuilt with the original stones found in the river in 1957. The arch at the far left is the only one which escaped destruction.
