	014 of 182. Located in the heart of the city, the Plaza 'Puerta del Sol' (Spanish for Gate of the Sun) is one of the busiest in Madrid. The name originated from one of the gates in the city wall that surrounded Madrid in the 15th century. Since the gate faced east, the sun would rise and shine on the gate, hence its name.
