The four buildings each feature near-identical curved facades, each adorned with statues representing the four seasons, four Spanish kings of Sicily, and four patron saints of the city's quarters. Because of its unique layout, at least one of the four corners is always illuminated by the sun during daylight hours, earning it the nickname "Il Teatro del Sole". |
