	006 of 226. Catania is an ancient port city on Sicily's east coast that was created as a colonial city of Greece in the 8th century BC. It sits at the foot of Mt. Etna, one of the world's most active volcanoes. We chose this city as our base to explore areas on the eastern side of the island.
