| 83 of 84. 'Death is not the end for the residents of Père Lachaise'. In 1804 as Paris ran out of room for new graves, a new 110 acre cemetery was created away from the city center. Due to its location, not many Parisians wanted to be buried there....Solution: move some famous people there from other cemeteries. It worked. As the largest cemetery in Paris, it is the most visited cemetery in the world with more than 3.5 million visitors annually. | |||
