059 of 120. Under Hadrian's reign, the Temple of Zeus was completed six centuries after it's first stones were set. To commemorate this feat, he built an adjacent arch with two inscriptions. One, facing the Acropolis, reads: 'This is Athens, the ancient city of Theseus.' On the other side facing the finished temple, it proclaims,'This is the city of Hadrian and not of Theseus.'
